In last week’s midterm elections, Democrats continued to run up the score in U.S. House races across multiple Northeastern states. A sweep of Massachusetts’ nine congressional districts increased the Democratic winning streak to 119 in a row in the Bay State dating back to 1996. Democrats also swept through Connecticut for the sixth consecutive cycle, extending the party record there to 30 straight elections (closing in on the Republican mark of 38 in a row set from 1894-1908). Rhode Island Democrats, meanwhile, won each of their state’s two congressional districts and extended the party’s victory streak to 26 in a row dating back to 1994.
